Collaborate, Participate, or Support the Work.
This project requires interdisciplinary cooperation. We work with research partners, experienced participants, and donors aligned with rigorous, ethically grounded frontier science. Transparency, safety, and structured inquiry guide all collaboration.
Collaborators
Universities, labs, clinics, computational researchers, and medicine practitioners working on phenomenology, psychedelic neuroscience, or related areas.
Participants
Psychologically stable adults with extensive high-dose experience, willing to engage in controlled, monitored research environments.
Donors
Support the first systematic research of novel states sitting just beyond the scientific record.

Our Approach
Published psychedelic science has characterized therapeutic doses in detail. Above roughly 25 mg of psilocybin, the published record is thin. Practitioners working in higher ranges describe phenomenological features that have not been studied in controlled settings. Our research produces the first systematic data from this range.

Phase 1 is a structured phenomenological study drawing on interviews with experienced practitioners and systematic analysis of existing trip-report corpora. Phase 2 is a controlled observational study comparing high and ultra-high doses, with EEG, validated psychometric instruments, and exploratory biomarker collection.
Because this range has not been studied in controlled scientific conditions, the work is exploratory. The aim is documentation, not confirmation of predetermined conclusions.

Sven Kaufmann
Founder & Chairman
Sven Kaufmann established the Apeiron & Nous Foundation in 2025 after two decades in technology entrepreneurship and a parallel decade of sustained personal engagement with high-dose psilocybin. He founded the organization to bring scientific methods to a range of human experience that the published research has not addressed, and that he had come to believe was scientifically tractable.
Donate Today
Apeiron & Nous advances science-forward research into extended-range psilocybin states as a tool for mapping consciousness and generating actionable insights. Our work aims to expand what we know about mind, meaning and intelligence, and apply those discoveries to human, ecological and societal flourishing.
